WEB SITES WHICH HAVE USEFUL COLOURED PENCIL CONTENT which you may be interested to look at
I am still collecting information for this section -
The Prime Forum is www.Scribbletalk.com based in the USA and with a very friendly and helpful worldwide community of members. This Forum went off air for a while early in 2011 and returned to action at the end of August 2011.
The other International forum is the more commercial www.wetcanvas.com which is based in the USA and owned by a major US Art Publisher. The scope of the Wet Canvas site is vast and I found it very US Centred and not of so much help for European based readers. It does have an active Coloured Pencil section, though, and does provide a facility for Internet based students to discuss CP.
There is an active french language forum for CP artists at http://crayonsdecouleur.forumactif.com/forum
Otherwise I don’t know of any other discussion groups outside Blogs
Let me know of any that are helpful places to join/go to.
I see that 2012 brings us some new and fairly new USA based web sites which provide a range of information on Coloured Pencils and their use.
Alyona Nickelson introduces a new (paid for) tutorial scheme ‘Art Logistics’ through her web site at www.brushandpencil.com.
There is also the excellent source of information supplied in the Colored Pencil Studio site ( based in Texas). Both of these sites provide useful tutorials from major US based artists and will be very helpful to US based readers.
And there is also Rob Sloan’s set of pages featuring free information on brands and techniques through Ebay information pages
These have been establish many years and are regularly updated Find them at :
